Protein Smoothie

I always keep frozen fruit on hand for fresh fruit smoothies.  When my bananas start to age, I peel and slice them, put them on a cookie sheet and freeze them so they stay separated.  I do the same with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and peaches.  Any fruit really.  If you freeze them, without touching, on a flat surface, you can use them in recipes without having to pull a big clump apart.  My smoothie is frozen fruit, greek yogurt, rice milk, agave nectar, juice and whey powder for that extra protein and a nice frothiness.  You can omit the whey powder, use honey or another sweetener.  You may even leave out the juice as needed or use juice instead of the rice milk.  If you use fresh fruit instead of frozen, just add a large handful of ice cubes to the blender.  Another option is to use flax seeds.  The flax seed carries one of the biggest nutrient payloads on the planet. And while it’s not technically a grain, it has a similar vitamin and mineral profile to grains, while the amount of fiber, antioxidants, and Omega-3 fatty acids in flax leaves grains in the dust. 1 cup of greek yogurt, plain or flavored
3 Tbsp. agave nectar
1/2 cup juice of choice

2 Tbsp. Whey protein powder
Optional: to make it even healthier, add some finely ground flax seeds, about 2 Tbsp.  I grind them in my coffee bean grinder)
